Lord Street West United Church

I am pleased to welcome you to Lord Street West United Church website.

We seek to be a friendly and welcoming Church, with a range of activities and events to appeal to different ages and interests.

Worshipping and proclaiming Jesus Christ the Lord is at the heart of our life together.

Our main Service takes place at 10.45am every Sunday Morning. During the Service a Creche area is available for the use of parents with babies and toddlers. At the same time our JAM (Jesus And Me) Club takes place with opportunities for children to learn about the Christian faith through stories and games. On the first Sunday of the month we share in Holy Communion during the Service.

Often Baptisms (Christenings) take place during or immediately after our Morning Service. Please visit the Baptisms section of the website to learn more about this.

Once a month (usually the third Sunday of the month) we have an evening Communion Service. Once a quarter this includes prayer for healing.

On Wednesdays we have a Coffee Morning from 10.30am followed by a Service in the Small Hall from 11.20 to 11.45.

Every two months we hold Messy Church on Saturday Morning from 10.30 – 12.30. This is a morning of craft activities and worship on a theme relating to the Christian faith. Parents or Grandparents are invited to come and share in this with their children. We finish with a free lunch at 12noon.

In our Services we seek to draw on the best of the United Reformed, Methodist and other Christian traditions, enriched by varied resources and new styles of worship. Our Services, including Communion, are open to all.

Many local groups and charities also hold events on our premises in addition to the regular Church activities.

We hope and pray that all who worship with us or share in our activities will experience something of the presence of the living God, who is the reason for everything that we do.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Church.

Peter Hughes (Minister)
